Getting things done!

Today is the first day this week that I feel as though I've gotten something done! I really haven't done much of anything but it's still more than what I think I've done all week. Which is really sad if I sit and think about it for too long.

Ethany and I were able to sit down for an hour and work on schoolwork together! Today she helped me to read parts of a book and learned that "ow" and "o" at the end of a word make the long "o" sound. learning things like this and comprehending them will help her immensely in her endevour to read. (which by they way she is still not too keen on because she's afraid that if she learns to read her dad and I won't read to her anymore)

Amber slept in today so she'll be doing work late. Which I think is punishment for her! Her friends get their work done by 2 pm usually and she's going to be doing work til about 4! OH well! She'll learn.

Eric has finished two subjects already and has most of his chores done! HOLY JEEZ! Miracles do exist! LOL! I love my son, but he's is so lazy. He hates doing school work.

As for me I have a social worker coming at 1:30 for a weekly visit. NO big deal, but I still haven't had a shower and I need to get things straightened up before she gets here. Unfortunately I waited until after Ayden had gotten up from his nap so now I have to jump in the shower before Brent leaves for work again. So I have 45 minutes... I'd better hurry.

"Lord, please watch over me today and watch over our children. Keep them safe and guide them through their life. Help me to remember that you are always there for me and that you have my best interest in mind.Help me to trust in you as my Lord and savior." AMEN

Humpday

It's Wednesday! We've had a late start to our day but seem to be accomplishing things none the less. I think. Eric has finished the math worksheet that I assigned. He hasn't done the bookwork, but just finishing the sheet is a feat in itself! It is like pulling teeth to get this boy to do schoolwork!
I've assigned Amber a 1000 word essay on Martin Luther King Jr. I think she can do it. She's not happy about it. Who is ever happy to get a 1000 word essay? She's working on it though. I told her to get her research done by tomorrow afternoon and than start writing. We'll see what she comes up with. I think this should be an easy assignment. I know I gave her a very limited amount of time, but why not offer here a challenge!
Ethany is not feeling well. It seems her belly hurts. She passed up Ramen noodles and Chicken tenders at lunch today! I hope that she feels better soon. I think she may just be tired. Her and I both have not been sleeping well the past few weeks. She's having night terrors and I'm just having my normal dreams. Which are pretty disturbing at times.
My little man, ayden has begun a new funny thing. He spins in circles! I love it. His little eyes try to stay focused, but at 15months old that's almost impossible. He just falls down and giggles each time. I love it. He's at a really fun age right now.
I'm off, I ended up buying Amber the camera she's been bugging for weeks to get. She has no money, but I'm confident that she'll pay me back eventually. I gifted her $22.58 now she has to earn $60. Wish her luck! She does not want to have to work for me to earn that money back! LOL! Anyhow, I'm off to pick up the camera that I ordered from Sears.com a couple of hours ago.

Weekends

This weekend was absolutely beautiful! Unfortunately I got to enjoy absolutely none of it! I am sick. I have a head cold or a sinus infection or some nasty combo of both and I feel like crap. I did make it out of the house but only to run errands.

Saturday I took Amber to the bowling alley on base. The church we've started attending had a youth group outing to the bowling alley. I hadn't planned on staying but I decided that it was better to be miserable and sociable than to sit at hom and wallow (is that how you spell that word?) in my misery! I did not bowl although I was invited to bowl. I don't like bowling. After three years of almost twice weekly bowling while stationed at Lakenheath in England I have developed a strong dislike of that particular sport. Plus my head felt like a bowling ball!

After bowling I went to a candle party. That was fun. Loads of people crammed into a very small house and I didn't know anyone except for the hostess. That was fine with me. I had told her I would show up and I wasn't relishing the idea of going home just yet so I found myself a chair and sat down. I purchased some candles, chatted randomly with some of the guests and ate a marshmallow dipped in chocolate! Yummy! I did manage to make a friend. I know I'm leaving the place in about 5 months time, but one can always use new friends right. She is a really cool, nice lady. Much younger than myself, but that's okay I can hang out with younger people. She does have a 13 year old daughter that was also at the party. We decided that our daughters had to meet. I want her daughter to meet mine to prove that not all homeschool kids are wierd. My daughter can meet her daughter and learn that not all of the kids that go to the local middle school are stuck up snobs!
That basically sums up my weekend. I played hookey from church today. Layed around most of the day. I frogged an entire sleeve of Amber's shrug! That was annoying, but had to be done. I managed to get done about 20 rows of it today. I need to have it finished ASAP! I figured out that I should not bind off each sleeve but continue on after placing my markers. This is my first article of clothing not counting ponchos. Ponchos don't count because that's just a rectangle that you've sewn up the middle. I'll try to post a picture of the shrug when it's finished. Wish me luck on finishing it in time for the dreaded homeschool dance....

Another day

I know, what a boring title to this blog but it fits. It's been yet another day like any other, almost done and over with. I've been sick to my stomach. I couldn't sleep last night. I am so worried about everything involving the adoption and I dread seeing COSB come up on our caller ID. (That's County of Santa Barbara.) I'm just so worried that it's bad news. I don't know why b/c I don't think we've done anything wrong. No, I know we haven't done anything wrong, but you just never know what's going to happen when they call. It's sad really b/c I never used to feel that way. I used to enjoy talking to our worker and filling her in on the baby's progress and what not. Now, I just want to have him adopted and officially say that he is my baby. I love him so much that it will break my heart if they take him away. We've filed for defacto parent status to give us more rights, but it's still up to the judge to grant that. PRAY PRAY!
So she called today, but no new news which is great in my mind! I think they want us to do acouple more things and have another agency check on us and than they'll finish the homestudy and put in for a court date. The bugger of it all is that it's so close to when we are moving. Plus we're moving overseas and that takes time and planning and a whole lot of paperwork. Right now we're not sure what name to put on the paperwork for the baby? His legal name right now or the name we're going to change to when he's adopted. The name we've been calling him since the day we got him. So much to do and think about and at the moment all I can do is wait.

Other than that, our day has gone well. Finally got Amber in to the orthodontist, much to her delight. She really wanted to change out her rubberbands. Now she is sporting grey, purple and black in her mouth.

Eric and his BFF are playing on the new Wii Fit that GM and GP sent for Christmas. They love it and I love that they are getting a workout. \

Alright, signing off, the neighbors daughter needs me to french braid her hair.

God Bless and much love!

????

So I'm sitting here at my computer and I really want to personalize my blog, but I have no idea how to do that! I'm sure it's somewhat simple, but I can't figure it out. So when it's more quiet in the house and I don't have a 14 month old running amuk and a 10 and 13 year old playing a video game less than 3 feet from where I sit, than I will search the internet and learn how to creat my own personalized blog site on here! Until that time you're stuck with the same generic background and layout that everyone else on this blog site has. Sorry!

The new year came off without a hitch. It was fun. We had 13 12-15 year olds partying at the house. They had a blast. We had Karoake and dancing and a game and chatting and eating. FUN! All the kids were well behaved too. It was great!

So welcome 2009!
